The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is the foremost accountancy body in South Africa and one of the leading institutes in the world. It plays an influential role in a highly dynamic business sector. SAICA grants accreditation of programmes that lead to the qualification of Chartered Accountants in South Africa through a process of academic review, which comprises the accreditation and monitoring of education programmes leading to SAICA’s qualifications. Academic review is underpinned by the philosophy that the process is a partnership between the education provider and SAICA. In November 2016, SAICA accredited The IIE’s Bachelor of Accounting degree.
