16 girls from the Ikamva Youth Program took part in the ‘Cell C Take a Girl Child to Work Day’ event hosted by Varsity College Cape Town recently. This Cell C driven initiative aims to ‘remind girl learners that they have the power to make their greatest dreams come true by believing in themselves. The girls were given the opportunity to job shadow different departments within Varsity College, as well as attend workshops on ‘leadership in the 21st century’ and ‘career pathing‘. They were then encouraged to reflect on their own plans for the future, and establish goals and a plan to assist them on their journey. The 3rd year Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality (BBA Hospitality) students treated the girls to a dessert demonstration over lunch, where they were also given the opportunity to make their own spin on a ‘Crepe Suzette’.
