School Quiz Engages Learners
On Thursday 28th August, Varsity College Westville and Durban North hosted the annual Varsity College School Quiz.
16 local high schools and 28 teams battled it out at the Westville Country Club for the coveted winning title. Competing schools each sent their representative team of four Grade 11 learners to try their skills and test their knowledge in the following categories: General Knowledge, Sport, Politics & Business, Popular Culture, Arts/History/Literature and Environmental/Geography.
First place went to Westville Girls High School who won a R50 000 School Bursary as well as a R4000 team prize. Second place went to Durban Girls College who won a R25 000 School Bursary and a R2000 team prize and third place went to Durban Girls High who won a R10 000 School Bursary and a R1000 team prize.
The School Quiz serves as a means to draw students closer to the world within which they interact. This initiative would not be possible if it were not for the continued and valued support of the participating schools and sponsors. We look forward to continuing this journey with you!
