Graduation stars shine
118 Varsity College Westville students graduated recently with diplomas and higher certificates ranging from Public Relations and Sports Management to Hospitality, IT and Business Practice.
The graduation took place at Moses Mabhida stadium and Varsity College welcomed many proud parents, guardians and grandparents to witness this milestone occasion for graduates. Dr. Anneke Van Den Hoek, Academic Manager of The Independent Institute of Education (IIE), addressed the attendees with pearls of wisdom that they can take into their future. Said Dr.Anneke Van Den Hoek: “Education remains the most effective tool you will have to steer your life and career in the direction of your dreams. It is correct and appropriate that you stop and savour the moment – then you need to look ahead at what is next.”
54 students graduated with distinction which meant that 46% of the graduates achieved their qualification with distinction. Top students received accolades and were commended for their outstanding performance in their various fields.
