About the position

I assist with reporting and forecasting by preparing components of reports, such as financial board packs that are sent to executives and directors. I also track product and customer profitability as well as assist with deciphering the variances at various mills to ensure that these mills run efficiently.

Why did you choose the qualification you studied?

I have always found the world of business to be very interesting; I think of it as real-world chess. And the structure of the qualification allowed me to choose a financial path.

Is your qualification relevant to your job?

Yes, as I am performing tasks on a daily basis which were covered in my course, such as preparing for month end procedures.

What is your greatest career achievement to date?

That would be being a part of this team that is responsible for the system conversion.

What are your future career plans?

I plan on studying further with the company in order to obtain my Honours and CIMA qualification.

What advice could you give to other students who are looking for or about to embark on their first job?

I would advise others to gain as much work experience as possible whilst studying by securing part time employment. You will be able to use all the skills gained in part time work for future jobs.
