IIE Varsity College Sports Bursary Programme
The IIE Varsity College’s Sports Bursary Programme is designed for students who have excelled in their sports disciplines.
Students may apply for the following two Sports Bursary categories:
Bursaries are available to students who are interested in becoming a member of one of our competitive sports clubs – e.g. rugby (KZN), cricket (Cape Town) hockey (KZN), football (Sandton), netball (Cape Town), water polo (National) and softball (Pretoria) – and have achieved a high level of sporting performance (e.g. provincial or national representation). Bursaries are awarded depending on the positional and transformation requirements of each sports club.
Students who have achieved National Senior Protea colours, in the year prior to registration, can apply for a sports bursary. Preference is given to students participating in sporting disciplines offered by The IIE’s Varsity College or if it is a USSA sports code, such as swimming and athletics.
Complete the sports bursary application form and upload a compiled CV of your sporting and leadership achievements and a short motivation as to why you would be suitable for selection.
Bursaries will only be considered once a student has submitted all the above-mentioned documentation in addition to having an interview with a Student Advisor to assess academic eligibility and paid the main Application and Pre-Registration fee. Please contact a Sports Coordinator at your nearest campus should you wish to find out more.
Please note the following sports are available at selected campuses only:
- Rugby - KZN campuses only
- Softball - Pretoria campus only
- Cricket - Cape Town campus only
- Hockey - KZN campuses only
